Summer Academy Friedrichsdorf, Germany
Thomas Herrmann’s passion for chamber music inspired him to set up the Summer Academy in Friedrichdorf, Germany in collaboration with Lars Keitel and Vera Laporeva (www.veralaporeva.com) in 2003. The goal of the Summer Academy is to give children and adults of all ages masterclasses in chamber music during one week of the summer.
17 editions of the Summer Academy have already taken place since then. Countless new workshops and masterclasses were added to the curriculum since the conception of the program.
The 18th edition of the Summer Academy will take place in August 2021, and naturally Thomas shall be present to fulfill his role as the piano and chamber music teacher.
Piano Seminar Arosa, Switzerland
Thomas continued with his creativity in musical entrepreneurship, and organized a yearly Piano Seminar in Arosa, Switzerland in 2010. The location in the beautiful hotel Altein with its amazing ambiance provided the perfect place to give piano lessons and exclusive concerts in the ancient hotel library every summer. Since its conception the Piano Seminar in Arosa has taken place 7 times.
Masterclasses Conservatory Potchefstroom, South Africa
In 1999 & 2001 Thomas Herrmann and Vera Laporeva were invited by the University of Potchefstroom to give various masterclasses together for the students of the Conservatory of Potchefstroom.
